Ironsmith.  Never has a name more aptly fitted a man.  Imagine our disappointment to discover that the ‘Iron’ was tagged on ironically to plain old ‘Mr. Smith’s’ surname after completion of his first Ironman event.  To his friends in Tent One Eleven, ‘Ironsmith’ he forever more will be.  From a cot with a drip, to the start line, to the finish line of the MDS long-day all within about 24 hours, Lazarus himself would have been impressed.  But then everyone’s impressed by Bruce; Geordie charm, heart of gold and tough as… well, tough as iron.
